Senior News 01.18.24

Seems Winter finally got here!

The low temps and vicious wind definitely kept lots of people home last week and that’s clearly understandable. The forecast shows this week will be slightly warmer which will certainly increase our attendance. A gentle reminder to stay home if you are suffering from any cold, flu or covid symptoms as seniors are a vulnerable population.

We are going to get a treat! On Thursday Jan 25, the Oroville High School Band will set up and perform for us in the Activity Room. We get the treat and the band gets the exposure to perform in public. We are also looking forward to the performance of the High School Choir on Thursday Feb 1.  On this subject, any entertainer or storyteller or speaker is welcome to get on the schedule.  Please send a message to our secretary at info@orovilleseniorcenter.com

Menus for Thursday Jan 18 - Chicken Burger Deluxe, Jo Jo’s and Coleslaw: Friday Jan 19 - Pot Roast, Potatoes and Carrots, with a tossed Green Salad: Monday Jan 22 - Chicken and Wild Rice Bake: Tuesday Jan 23 - Cheeseburger Deluxe, Tater Tots and Coleslaw: Thursday Jan 25 - BBQ Country Ribs, Mac and Cheese and a Carrot Raisin Salad.  OCTN has raised the suggested donation for 60 and older to $5.00 and for those younger than 60 to $12.00.

Here’s proof of how last weekend’s temps kept members at home: No PINOCHLE! So no scores to report!
